He who dies with the most toys...
Okay, let's face it... Most of us who call ourselves fans of the genre, collect the "toys"... c'mon, admit it... you've probably got at least ONE McFarlane or similar figure in your collection. I know I do. Well here's a cool place to pick up more: Toys On Fire. Located right here in Nepean, they look to have pretty much everything in the Horror department, from McFarlane right through to NECA. Oh, and you can even order online if, like me, you're not big on the whole "going shopping" thing.

In Memoriam...
Okay, I admit to never having been a HUGE fan of Micheal Jackson... However he DID have a couple of connections to the horror genre....
First, as a child he did the theme to "Ben", which was of course a sequel to the classic Horror film "Willard".
First, as a child he did the theme to "Ben", which was of course a sequel to the classic Horror film "Willard".
And of course, who can forget that he hired a director by the name of John Landis, to create and direct one of the most famous videos of all time... "Thriller". Featuring werewolves, zombies, and a great middle eight featuring the one and only Vincent Price, it changed the way we thought about music videos.
Micheal Jackson died last night at the age of 50, from cardiac arrest...

Lullaby...
I found this little film on YouTube... It's from Ottawa University Student, Samantha McCarthy. Reminds me a bit of "The Ring" - specifically the film INSIDE the film.

New Music Thursday...

First up is Ottawa band "The Creeps". The Creeps are Skottie on Vocals and Guitar, Ian on Bass and Vocals, and Jordy on Drums and Vocals. Self-described as "Pop Melodies, too much booze, and Stephen King books", their sound is very post-punk pop, but with much better technique than a lot of their contemporaries. With titles like "Shadows" and "Bury the Bodies", they wear their obvious love of the genre on their sleeves. They recently released their fourth indie title "These Walls", will be releasing a split 7" single, and will be playing across the country this summer - literally! Check them out today- you can purchase their music on iTunes
Here's "Bury the Bodies" for your listening pleasure

Yet ANOTHER great Creepy Puppet Project! Matt has REALLY outdone himself this time - easily the most complex film he's made. And well done to boot! Don't just sit there... check it out! And while you're at it, subscribe to his feed on YouTube.
