More Movies at the Mayfair!

Greetings Fans and Friends!

Well it's been awhile, but this month has some excellent Movie Nights at the Mayfair. So were having not one but TWO count 'em TWO Ottawa Horror Movie Nights!

First up is "Lifeforce" - Toby Hooper's "naked female vampires from space" movie! It's on Saturday July 11th at 11:30 PM! Come and join us, and wish me a slightly late Happy Birthday!



Second is "Cropsey" on Fri. Jan 23rd at 9:00pm. This looks very cool... it's about some folks who go looking for a local urban legend and find out some scary truths. It's presented as a "documentary", but I'm not certain if it's a "Blair Witch/Paranormal Activity" sort of doc, or it's actually real. Either way, it looks pretty cool!

Ottawa Horror Movie Night- Happy Birthday Jared!

My good buddy The Zombie King from Zombieinfo.com, is presenting "The Funhouse", March 19th, 11:55pm at the Mayfair theatre, and it's our next Ottawa Horror Movie Night. It also happens to be exactly one week after our FB group member Jared Denison's birthday! I know he was hoping to get it ON his birthday, but nonetheless, let's all come out and celebrate! Zombieinfo and Ottawa Horror are hoping to have some great prizes to give away. See you there!

Another chance to go Crazy!

First off, a big thanks to those who braved the ugly weather last night, and came out to see the preview of the new "The Crazies". Feel free to comment on your thoughts, good, bad and indifferent of it!

Missed out on tickets? Well that's ok. Tonight we have the ORIGINAL George A. Romero version at the Mayfair! We'll be having a meetup at the Barley Mow (1060 Bank, just down the street) at 10:30PM and the movie starts at 11:55. Admission is $9.00 for non-members and $5.00 for members. So help support local cinema and buy a membership!

Ottawa Horror Movie Night VI

It's official!

Ottawa Horror Movie Night VI, is Friday, Feb 26th at the Mayfair. We're having a meetup at The Barley Mow just down the street at 1060 Bank St. at 10:30. The movie is of course the original 1973 "The Crazies", so if you missed out on passes to the remake, here's a chance to see the original. Admission is $9.00 for non-members, and $5.00 for members. Membership is only $10.00 for the year, so if you're planning to see more than 2 films, it pays for itself! The movie starts at 11:55pm.

And the Winner is...

With a clear 75% of the vote the winner is George Romero's "The Crazies"!  This means our next movie night will be Feb 26th at 11:55PM! We hope to see you all there! Stay tuned, we're hoping to have a couple of goodies in store for this one...

Thanks to all...

So, another movie night has come and gone... We actually got a record turnout for this one, although maybe not quite as high as we'd hoped. Thanks to all who came out. It was nice to see some of you in person (shout out to you typicallydia).  I have to say it was a neat flashback to my youth to sit and watch "Fright Night" on the big screen with a bunch of my friends.

We'll be holding another one next month, so if you couldn't make this one, they'll be more chances. Thanks also to the Mayfair, for keeping our favourite genre on the big screen, and Lee, Ian and Josh for getting behind local groups like us.

Movie Night/Meetup

Just a last minute reminder... Tonight at 11pm is the Ottawa Horror Movie Night/Meetup at the Mayfair for "Fright Night". We'll be meeting at the Second Cup at Sunnyside and Bank, just down from the Theatre at 10:30ish (the address for those Googling it is 1091 Bank St.). Let's show the folks at the Mayfair how much we love our Horror Films!

Yet Another Ottawa Horror Movie Night...

So once again, Ottawa Horror is planning a movie night. This time we'll be taking in that classic 80's bit of Vampire Schlock "Fright Night" at the one and only Mayfair Cinemas. The show is Friday January 22nd at 11PM. Admission is $9.00 or $5.00 if you're a member. Hope to see you there!

Ottawa Horror Movie Night III!

Ottawa Horror is once again hosting a movie night on Friday July 17th, 2009. Our feature this time, will be the original "Attack of The Giant Leeches". Ottawa Horror holds it's movie nights at Elan Games, 444 Hazledean Rd. Kanata. Admission is free, so feel free to drop by if you're in the neighborhood! Oh, and maybe bring some salt!
