Brett Kelly, Ottawa's "Duke of Doom" has secured a distribution deal for his "Man in a rubber suit" monster movie - Prey for the Beast with Maxim Media
Shot in and around Ottawa in the summer and fall of 2006, Prey for the Beast tells the story of four friends who go away for a "guys weekend" in the woods, only to discover four beautiful women, and one very ugly monster. An homage (which Brett tells me is "french for rip-off") to classic 80's monster movies, the movie is a tongue-in-cheek romp through the forest, featuring the work of Matt Ficner and Ralph Gethings, doing the Beast and Makeup FX respectively.
This represents the first time that Brett Kelly has distributed through Maxim Media, all his previous movies being released through Tempe films.
"I am happy to be associated with a distributor that really cares about the horror genre. I hope people really enjoy this disc." says Kelly.
